Casus Belliはラテン語で「開戦事由」の意味。CBが無い場合には戦争を始めることはできない。 開戦時に選んだCBにより戦争の結果も異なってくるので、間違えないように気をつけるべし。 後述のTribal Invasion CBを除き、全てのCBによる戦争の停戦期間は10年である。 これは当事者間のみに有効であり、また攻撃側のみに適用される。 したがって、攻撃側or防衛側のいずれかが死亡した場合停戦条約は無効となり、 また防衛側は停戦期間に関係なくいつでも逆襲が可能である。
以下、各々の個別的な変更条件
中世の国王及び皇帝は、常に封臣の特権・権利・義務を巡り争い続けた。 通常、貴族階級は弱い王権を好む傾向にある。
司教の任命を、教皇と世俗君主のどちらが行うかを決定する。

・自領のメイン宗教と異なる信仰の教師を後継者につけると、転向してしまって、継承後に全領土全配下と宗派が異なって涙目になる。 ・第一後継候補にambitionが付いてもいいが、第二以下につくと面倒。教師がもって無いことを確認すべし。 ・逆のTraitsにSlothfulがある。第一候補につくと継承後、配下の忠心が下がって面倒。逆に第二候補以下につくと、二心を抱きにくくなる。
・Content持ちのキャラは、異教ペナを乗り越えて忠誠を誓ってくれるので、結構簡単に改宗できます。 ・嫁にするときも、異教であってもContent持ちであれば、子供に引き継がれる可能性もあるので、選択肢として考えてもよいかもしれません。
